Description

On tour in Switzerland and France from August 12 to 24, 2026, the Tremblant Choir is delighted and grateful to be welcomed in the village of Châtel, so dear to the hearts of Tremblanters, because of the precious twinning that unites the two towns.
The ensemble invites the public and visitors alike to take a musical journey through the eras and worlds of the French-speaking world. Carried by the richness of the texts and the beauty of the melodies, this program highlights outstanding works from both the French and Quebec repertoires. Directed by Louis Babin, the 40-strong choir on this tour offers an hour-long concert featuring classical music, contemporary works and emblematic songs. On the program: a diversity of works ranging from Marie Bernard's "Petite suite québécoise", inspired by folklore, to Victor Hugo's "Djinns" set to music by Gabriel Fauré, not forgetting classics of Quebec chanson such as "Je ferai un jardin" by Clémence DesRochers and "Jours de plaine" by Daniel Lavoie. Audiences will also hear Debussy's "Beau soir", as well as older pieces, including "Il est bel et bon", a song dating from 1536. True to its artistic and human mission, the Tremblant Choir's main aim is to share its passion for choral singing, to bring people together and to promote Quebec culture internationally. Founded in 1994 and designated a "Cultural Treasure of the Laurentian Region" in 2016, the Tremblant Choir usually brings together more than sixty choristers. Its artistic director, Louis Babin, is also a composer for film, theater and orchestra. Céline Laverdure, pianist and teacher, has accompanied the ensemble with sensitivity for many years. A vibrant concert, accessible to all... and entirely free of charge!
