The electrical declination of the Pass'Portes

In partnership with Bosch, the Portes du Soleil organising team has concocted an original and unprecedented route
53km route on the Swiss side. The route takes in the legendary passes along the Franco-Swiss border, with some attractive

What you need to know before signing up

  • Regulations

    The 2026 ePass’Portes du Soleil MTB regulations: download.

    Once the organisers have closed at 6.00 p.m., or if a participant leaves the course before the end of the event, he or she is considered to be riding outside the framework of the event.
    As a result, they are no longer under the responsibility of the organiser and ride under their own sole and entire responsibility.

  • Authorisation to Leave the Territory

    Authorisation to leave the country (AST), required to travel from France to Switzerland.
    Information and forms can be downloaded from: www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F1359, completed and placed in your child’s bag. From 15 January 2017, a minor child living in France who travels abroad alone or unaccompanied by one of their parents must be in possession of an authorisation to leave the country (AST). This is a form drawn up and signed by a parent (or legal guardian). The form must be accompanied by a photocopy of the signing parent’s identity document.

  • Included in registration
    • A personal frame plate, in a different colour each day, which must be affixed to the participant’s bike.
    • fasteners for the plate
    • a hands-free card for use at the lift terminals
    • a route road book that can be downloaded from the Pass’Portes website
    • a lift pass valid for one day in the Portes du Soleil area, to be used in summer 2025 from the Monday after you take part, or in winter 2025-2026
    • a wristband that must be worn to access the refreshment points on the tour, participant insurance valid on the day of registration
    • an exclusive “Pass’Portes” gift.
  • Compulsory equipment
    • It is compulsory to wear a rigid helmet in good condition with the chin strap fastened and gloves suitable for mountain biking. Participants who fail to do so may not be allowed to take part in the ride.
    • Protective gear (such as elbow pads, knee pads and back protectors) is strongly recommended by the organisers.
    • For children’s rides, protection is compulsory: helmet (full-face strongly recommended), preferably long gloves, back protector and knee pads.
    • Bikes recommended by the organisers: full-suspension Moutain Bike enduro (approx. 140-160mm travel). Bikes must be in good working order. The bike must comply with current legislation, as laid down by the French Cycling Federation and the Swiss Cycling Federation.
    • It is advisable to carry a mobile phone, which will work on the route between France and Switzerland.
    • Bring warm clothing and rain gear, as the weather in the mountains is very changeable.
    • Your own cup for the refreshment points.
