Description
Come and test your mettle at the 12th edition, on the playground of the emblematic Nantaux summit in the communes of Montriond and St Jean d'Aulps.
The Vertical Kilometer is an uphill-only race that requires a short but very intense effort.
Time trial start, every 20 seconds.
Schedule:
7:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.: Race bib pickup
8:15 a.m.: Symbolic start of Speed-riding, with alphorn fanfare
8:30 a.m.: Start of the Nantaux Vertical Kilometer
11:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.: Lunch with entertainment
2:00 p.m.: Speeches and awards ceremony
11:30 a.m. – midnight: Friendly atmosphere and festive evening

• Distance: 2,277 m
• Elevation gain: 1,000 m
• Average gradient: 44%
• Maximum gradient: 77% (at the 500-meter mark)

Open to runners born before September 12, 2010 (who must be at least 16 years old on race day).
The start is located at a place called “Les Granges” in Montriond. The finish line is at 1,934 meters, near the summit of Nantaux.
The race is followed by a meal.
Training:
• Please respect the area and its residents, as the course passes through private property and parks. The KMV Nantaux course is exceptionally open during this annual event thanks to the agreement of local residents.
• Please make sure to close the park gates properly
• Please keep your dog on a leash
