16. Val-d'Illiez - Champoussin

Starting point: Val-d'Illiez village square.

Immerse yourself in the authentic atmosphere of this charming mountain village as you begin your walk among the historic mazots (to the left of the Raiffeisen bank). Follow the Route de la Carrière towards Champoussin and let the scenery captivate you.

An immersion in nature and history
Along the way, you’ll walk along a picturesque path through an enchanting forest, bordered by beautiful dry-stone walls dating back to the early 20th century. Take a moment to stop at the oratory dedicated to Saint Thérèse, a perfect spot for quiet reflection.

Continue your ascent along the Route de Délifrette for approximately 300 meters.

Towards the Chaux chairlift:

Follow the snowshoe trail no. 2, which will take you to the Chaux chairlift in about one hour.


Along the hillside:

Turn left to explore an enchanting path through the forest. At the intersection, turn right to ascend and join snowshoe trail no. 1, leading to the Frâchette shelter (+1h).



Return to the village:
To conclude this beautiful outing, head back down to Val-d'Illiez. Pass by the charming Lisas Chapel, cross the Route des Crosets twice, and follow a scenic path that will guide you back to the heart of the village.
